For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Lincoln Navigator L are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Aston Martin DBX doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Navigator L are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The DBX doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The Navigator L has standard Post Collision Braking, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The DBX doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Navigator L has standard Reverse Brake Assist that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The DBX doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

The Navigator L’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The DBX doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Navigator L and the DBX have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

The Lincoln Navigator L weighs 1084 pounds more than the Aston Martin DBX. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

The Navigator L comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck. The DBX’s 3-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

Lincoln’s powertrain warranty covers the Navigator L 3 years longer than Aston Martin covers the DBX. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the DBX ends after only 3 years.

There are almost 14 times as many Lincoln dealers as there are Aston Martin dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Navigator L’s warranty.

The Navigator L has a standard “limp home system” to keep drivers from being stranded if most or all of the engine’s coolant is lost. The engine will run on only half of its cylinders at a time, reduce its power and light a warning lamp on the dashboard so the driver can get to a service station for repairs. The DBX doesn’t offer a lost coolant limp home mode, so a coolant leak could strand you or seriously damage the truck’s engine.

On the EPA test cycle the Navigator L gets better fuel mileage than the DBX707 (15 city/22 hwy vs. 15 city/20 hwy).

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Lincoln Navigator L uses regular unleaded gasoline (premium recommended for maximum performance). The DBX requires premium, which can cost on average about 84.9 cents more per gallon.

The Navigator L has 5.3 gallons more fuel capacity than the DBX (27.8 vs. 22.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Lincoln Navigator L higher (5 out of 10) than the Aston Martin DBX (4). This means the Navigator L produces up to 5.2 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the DBX every 15,000 miles.

A 10-speed automatic is standard on the Lincoln Navigator L, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a nine-speed automatic is available for the DBX.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Navigator L Black Label offers optional 24-inch wheels. The DBX’s largest wheels are only 23-inches.

The Lincoln Navigator L’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Aston Martin DBX only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

The Navigator L’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The DBX doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Navigator L’s wheelbase is 11 inches longer than on the DBX (131.5 inches vs. 120.5 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Navigator L is 1.2 inches wider in the front and 2.3 inches wider in the rear than on the DBX.

The Navigator L uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The DBX doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The Navigator L offers optional seating for 8 passengers; the DBX can only carry 5.

The Navigator L has 63.1 cubic feet more passenger volume than the DBX (172.1 vs. 109).

The Navigator L has 1.8 inches more front legroom, 6.9 inches more front shoulder room, 1.1 inches more rear legroom and 10.6 inches more rear shoulder room than the DBX.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Navigator L’s middle and third row seats recline. The DBX’s rear seats don’t recline.

The Navigator L’s cargo area provides more volume than the DBX.

The Navigator L’s rear cargo window opens separately from the rest of the tailgate door to allow quicker loading of small packages. The DBX’s rear cargo window doesn’t open.

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the Navigator L’s tailgate can be opened just by waiting momentarily behind the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The DBX doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its liftgate, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

The Navigator L’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the DBX’s (6600 vs. 5940 pounds). Maximum trailer towing in the Aston Martin DBX is only 5940 pounds. The Navigator L offers up to a 8700 lbs. towing capacity.

An Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor is standard on the Navigator L to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals for oil changes, based on actual driving conditions. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Aston Martin doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the DBX.

The Navigator L has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The DBX doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

In case you lock your keys in your vehicle, or don’t have them with you, you can let yourself in using the Navigator L’s exterior PIN entry system. The DBX doesn’t offer an exterior PIN entry system.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Navigator L has a standard rear wiper. The DBX doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the Navigator L has standard cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The DBX doesn’t offer cornering lights. The Navigator L also has standard adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle.

The Navigator L has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the DBX.

The Navigator L (except Premiere) offers optional massaging front and rear seats (rear massaging seats standard on Black Label). Massaging seats aren’t available in the DBX.

The Navigator L’s standard oscillating air vents move back and forth and distribute air evenly inside the vehicle, making everyone more comfortable. The DBX doesn’t offer oscillating vents.

The Lincoln Navigator L has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the driver’s visor. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. Aston Martin charges extra for Homelink® on the DBX.

The Navigator L has a 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The DBX doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

A group of representative automotive journalists from North America selected the Navigator as the 2018 North American Truck of the Year. The DBX has never been chosen.

The Lincoln Navigator outsold the Aston Martin DBX by almost 56 to one during 2024.
